JBW: Hey Nathan, Thanks for taking the time to talk to me. So how did you get into 40K?

I first got into it in college with friends I was playing Battlefleet Gothic with put me on to it core 40k with some Dark Angels; this was still 3rd Ed. if I remember correctly?  After college, I dropped it for about 14 years before jumping back in at the end of 2012.

JBW: What other Games/ Systems do you play?

Battlefleet Gothic, starting a Warhammer army, and All Quiet on the Martian Front(when the Kickstarter finally arrives!)

JBW: Do you have other 40K armies? Would you mind giving us a quick list of them?

My main army is Tau\Farsight Enclave and I am working on a Space Marine army(Raven Guard successor chapter).

JBW: In your opinion what do you think makes a good tournament player?

Somebody who keeps things in perspective and rolls with the punches, both in the game and in general in the tournament.  We all want to play our best game and win, but you can’t give in or lose your after failing a big dice roll or getting paired against a tough opponent for your list; take it in stride, keep playing your game, and have fun!

JBW: What excites you about tournaments, or what do you expect from an organized event?

It’s a chance to really dig an and play some serious 40k for a couple of days.  We all have lots of other stuff going on in our lives; families, school, work, etc. These are opportunities to take a little time for ourselves in a great hobby with like-minded folks.

JBW: How are you planning or prepping for this event?

I’m probably one of the least experienced players coming this year; it seems I’m always seeing something new every time I play so I’m trying to generalize problems and how my army should deal with them and then going through the problems I think my list will present to others and how to work those to my advantage.

JBW: Say there was someone reading this who wants to try and qualify for the 2015 Cage Match at their local store. What advice would you give them?

Give it your best shot and have fun; the worst that can happen is you get to play some 40k!
